The British Chamber of Commerce in Mexico extends our deepest sympathies and support to those in Ukraine and elsewhere who have been affected by the suffering, violence, and loss of life that the invasion has caused, and we hope for a swift and peaceful end to the conflict.

After discussions with the Ukrainian Embassy in Mexico, they shared with us the various efforts that are being made here to support Ukranians and they advised us on how we can best channel our supportive efforts, and those of our members.

  1. Proyecto Axolotl

Last week BritChaM Director, Gilles Vignal, was honoured to accompany Pablo Caso to the Ukranian Embassy to deliver an artwork that the artist created inspired by the tragic invasion of Ukraine. The triptych, titled Turning Point and valued at $13,500 USD, will be auctioned off on the 22nd of September as part of a larger Gala Dinner event and all funds raised will go towards Proyecto Axolotl.

Proyecto Axolotl is a Mexico-based initiative which aims to regenerate the lives of Ukranians who have suffered severe injuries in the war, by providing them with prosthetic limb replacements. Read more about this amazing project here.

Finally, thank you to BritChaM member Giancarlo Graber of ThyReality who helped the Chamber facilitate the donation of this artwork.
